For my collage, I decided to get out of the house and head across the street to the farm that my fiance works on. These photos were taken in the calf barn, which is the barn my fiance actually works in. I really enjoyed this assignment because I was able to get out and put my camera to good use!
These photos are of the little calves, tractors, grain, hay, etc. and I also included a shot of one of the barn cats we have there too! I found it to be extremely difficult taking pictures of the calves mainly because of the lag time on my camera. I would line up a perfect shot, hit the capture button, then the calf would move a bit and that was it...a blurry shot! It took me quite a few photos to get the best ones, but I didn't give up!

I grew up on a small farm and always thought that cows eyes made them look sweet and gentle. The picture in the bottom right makes me smile. That tongue looks like it's slurping something!
ReplyDeleteVery cute. This reminds me of my hometown. I like all of the different angles and views of the cows. The textured pictures are really interesting too I like the one of the hay.
ReplyDeleteI really like the theme of your shoot! The perspectives are interesting. I had the same problem with lag time trying to take pictures of my cat. Very annoying. I like the eye shots.
ReplyDeleteNikki, these are images that speak to my heart! I love the calf licking it's nose. One of my favorite things as a mom has been seeing my sons' reactions the first time a calf sucks on their fingers.
ReplyDeleteThank you all so much for your comments! I really appreciate it!
ReplyDeleteJenn, I thought you would appreciate these pictures! Your farm in Williamstown is just beautiful!
Nikki, I like your photo collage. Nice to have a theme for your collage and I also like how you have arranged them with the green background, gives your photos definition. Calves are so adorable and huge curious eyes. Great birds-eye view of various items. Very interesting. Awesome job.
ReplyDeleteNikki,
ReplyDeleteYour collage is great. I love the picture of the calf with its tongue out. Cant imagine the patience it took to take these pictures, im very impressed you were able to do it. I also like how you didnt use full pictures, the clips look awesome.
Sean
I like the feel of you shoot, its warm, earthy, and comfortable, great textures, I just love all the eyes and noses.
ReplyDeleteNikki you did a great job. I liked how you chose a theme for all of your photos. I liked all of the different textures of the barm that you got. I liked the eye pictures of the cows, but my favorite was the cow licking on the bottom, that was great.
ReplyDeleteI went and read comments after I posted, sorry I said the same things as everybody else, I guess that means we all saw the same wonderful things.
ReplyDeleteLOVE this! I love animals, and you captured them so sweetly! The tongue is GREAT!!! The pictures to me are so soft and soothing. The browns and earth tones are also very calming.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing!
That is awesome! I really like your collage. I love calves. There was a time when I was going to the University of Maine that I got to work with them and they are so sweet! I found it amazing that you were able to get such clear shots of a baby animal like that. They can be so jumpy! I especially like the photo of the one with the white hairy nose. Those hairs are really long!
ReplyDeleteADORABLE! Love cows and every weekend my son and I go to a barn up by my inlaws where there are a ton of cows and he loves looking at them! Love the animal collage in general because I am a huge animal lover! Jealous you get to be around cows!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much everyone again for all of your comments! It is much appreciated! I really enjoyed spending time at the barn and taking these photos! And yes it was extremely difficult taking the "close up" pictures of the calves. The lag time on my camera made it very hard. If I had a DSLR I think it would've been much easier! Hopefully I'll be getting one sooner than later!
ReplyDeleteOh wow I really like this one. I spend alot of time on my buddies farm hanging out helping out so I can really relate to this collage great job it made me feel right at home :)
